Dance Sport. A recognized sport.

The ancient Greeks, the founders of the Olympic movement never shared beauty and strength, art and sport. No wonder the famous philosopher Plato was also an Olympic boxing champion, more precisely, the ancient Greek mixture of boxing and wrestling. That is why the recognition of the IOC of such sports and art as artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized swimming and dancing pleases. Perhaps they do not meet the criteria of “faster, higher, stronger”, but because they are no less complex, interesting and beautiful.
In fact, dance sports require athletes no less physical and spiritual dedication than football, a big SuperTramp sports trampoline or an obstacle course. The dancer simply has to be strong and enduring, because several rounds of the competition suggest that the dance couple of the finalists will perform about thirty two-minute dances per tournament. Not every athlete will be able to withstand such a load. Moreover, all muscle groups are tense, and the cardiovascular and respiratory systems are also subject to serious stress. A support partner can easily be compared with strength exercises in other sports. In addition, do not forget about the amazing concentration, flexibility and coordination of movements, because sports dance involves clear lines and movements. It is not for nothing that masters of martial arts and contact sports are scrutinizing with great attention to athletes who have a dance past as potential champions. However, besides the listed physical abilities a dancer must feel beauty, because he cannot do anything if he does not feel music and rhythm, style and grace. Indeed, unlike many other sports, where the main result (no matter how beautifully ran, but most importantly the first), for the dancer the result is the whole process. Well, sport dances are often a team sport, at least many have to work in pairs.
In the light of such high demands on an athlete who is able to show a high result in sports dancing, it is not surprising that for many people dancing is not a hobby, but a large part of life. From early childhood, workouts are replaced by radio-controlled robots for the dancer’s toys, and music constantly sounds in his head, and new elements are thought out. On the other hand, the result of dancing lessons causes genuine admiration.
