In the understanding of some people, a healthy child should be plump. Greater attention is not given to excess weight: it is believed that when the child grows up and stretches, the fat will “go away”. In fact, it is not so at all.

The problem of excess weight

Currently, every fifth child is overweight. Blame for this – and not without reason – lack of activity and the abundance of “hazards.” And the weight, in turn, becomes the cause of the child’s passivity and unwillingness to go in for sports – the person is simply embarrassed by himself.

One way to help a child break this vicious circle will be sport. It is very simple to cope with excess weight in childhood: the body at this time will dutifully take any shape and keep it for many years. In addition, the child will have new friends and interests, he can become more confident and open in communication. And, who knows, a passion can grow from a hobby into a matter of a lifetime.

But in order to make sense of employment, you need to choose the right sport.

Criteria for choosing a sport for children

When choosing a sports section, many parents are guided by their unfulfilled dreams or ideas about what the child needs.

This can lead to the fact that the child will come up with many ways to skip classes, and instead of health and a beautiful figure will get all the same excess fat, deterioration of health in the future and many complexes.

In order not to make mistakes when choosing a sport, you need to follow these criteria:

Physical data of the child is an important parameter when choosing a sport. For example, the boy “quiet” will not take in the players.

What does a child like? Do you think dancing is unworthy for a boy? A girl should not know the techniques of karate? Maybe you are right. But if your child, with bated breath, watches sport dance competitions, and your daughter has reviewed all the films that are somehow related to the martial arts, the only way out is to accept it. And, of course, take the child to the sports section.

Character. Shy kids get lost in team games. Physically, individual sports, such as gymnastics, are more suitable for the undeveloped. Lazy are likely to enjoy martial arts.

Distance from home. The desired section can be located at the opposite end of the city, and a trip to it can be a real adventure with many transfers and transitions. Can you cover this distance every week for several years in a row?

Qualified trainer. It is believed that the stricter a teacher, the better his students learn. In fact, this is not always the case. Sometimes a human attitude is more important than severity. Moreover, if the child is full and unsure of himself – he will perceive the severity as cruelty, remarks – as an attempt to humiliate, and most likely, will lose faith in himself. Ideal if the teacher is not only fair and qualified, but also sincerely passionate about his work – such people can inculcate not only technology, but an understanding of discipline and true love for sports.

Sports for fat children (overweight)

For full children most often choose active sports. It is believed that in this way they will quickly get in shape. However, overweight children in training will have a difficult time. Football and other mobile sports put too much stress on the heart and joints, which in full children “suffer” every day.

Since full children often do not like physical activity, you can interest them more spectacular sports – martial arts. Judo, karate, taykvondo – such circles are in many cities, nowadays even girls are accepted there. The main thing is to explain to the child before the “shipment” that the real fights are not as spectacular as in the films, and you will have to work a lot to get the result.

Another good option is equestrian sport. It is equally well suited for boys and girls. Muscles are worked out very well, the posture is formed. Children communicate with the animal during training, which saves them from loneliness, anxiety about the figure, and, as a result, from the “jamming” of stress. The disadvantages of equestrian sport are the high cost, as well as the fact that not all cities have racetracks. But if it is possible to send a child to such a section, why not try?

Many sports clubs open sections of children’s yoga. These classes are also universal, suitable for girls and boys. They are adapted for children, perfectly reduce stress, strengthen muscles and develop flexibility. “Tikhony”, who cannot stand running, are best suited.

For girls, a slim figure is even more important, because they want to be beautiful and graceful. They can be helped by sports such as figure skating, gymnastics. They will develop flexibility and grace, in the future they will make the figure more beautiful.

We should also say about swimming. This sport can bring tangible benefits to full children. In addition, the probability of injury is minimal. Classes will help temper the body, if necessary – to cope with the fear of water.
