Rowing, fitness and functional training

Rowing and functional training
In my hall for people with an average income, or economy class, the coaching staff is well prepared, but only two coaches give non-standard exercises. The rest stably “grow bodybuilders”, not releasing them far from the barbell and dumbbells. Stretching after strength training regularly teach only me. And four coaches from the direction of aerobics, that is, everyone does not understand how to work on “complex” strength simulators, do not know the techniques of basic power movements.

So smoothly, I lead you to the fact that we know so little about the crown of the practice of recreational training. The fact that in the past few years and especially now becomes unrealistically popular. On functional training – this in our room does not give competently anybody.

And in order to find out what kind of trick it is – let’s turn to the explanatory search engine Yandex! The preamble is this: “Americans, as it were, very correctly noted that athletes who practice professionally and train their muscles directly for something can fall and be injured at home, like ordinary people. Sport is a narrow specialization, especially in our time! And so, why were functional exercises invented? The answer to this question will immediately follow after this point. To give your body flexibility and strength, harmony and balance. That is why modern scientists have developed functional exercises. Functional training is a kind of novelty in our life. Normal fitness is usually aimed at the study of certain muscle groups. As for functional training, this is the improvement of your body and the body as a whole.
And: “Traditional training in the gym does not cover a tenth of what it could give. Nobody argues that wide shoulders and voluminous biceps are important, but … what about such abilities as: explosive strength, coordination and agility, with an ideal balance in the development of absolutely all muscle groups, with a beautiful posture and graceful gait, with an ability to to effectively engage the muscles in work, in order to overcome a large load in life situations, without getting hurt? ”
Or: “Do not transform muscles into armor, learn to control them! The path to this is functional training! ”
And even this way: “Having mastered this direction of fitness, you will make your client’s workouts more diverse, interesting, increase his motivation for classes, prepare him for any kinds of sports, outdoor activities and loads in everyday life.”

Descriptions are intrigued? Then enough. I summarize what is obvious to me: first, it came to the forefront in the market a long time ago, overtaking even cardio and group training in different directions. Secondly, it can solve a wide range of tasks. And, thirdly, this miracle is a type of activity that only a qualified fitness instructor can teach first-class, choosing the right exercises and adjusting the load.

It sounds tempting, by the way, in practice, everyone gradually uses certain functional exercises for weight loss, for example, or in training sportsmen’s monsters, elite cyclical types. And not so long ago, on a sports channel, I saw how the best skater in Russia, a medalist of the World Cup, worked with a fitness ball in such a large area, shook the press. His coach, by the way, is Italian, (here the domestic colleagues quickly made a surprised face !!!) well done with a capital letter, and our athlete was very lucky – he was invited to these trainings. A unique case, and it is possible that a single.

Let’s return to the topic. The essence and at the same time all the advantages of this direction of training: training of the core muscles ’(muscles located on the body and especially deep-seated), training of the vestibular apparatus (which plays the role of resistance in the first pairs in the exercise). Ideas are available and it is obvious that you need from simple to complex and so on. It lacks only practical examples and exercises. At the forum canoe sport “Anatolychich” asked for exercises. I recommend to sign up for a seminar on functional training and get them full. And get experience selling actual knowledge.

Have noticed already or not, but there is an obvious disadvantage. Functional exercises are still not aerobic training, they are power (alactate or lactate load, if you will) and difficult to coordinate, like weightlifting, by the way. That is, the hall still imposes certain limits on all-powerful exercises. Example: a functionally man exercised and went on an exciting journey on a treadmill or exercise bike. Do you agree that it is a stone age, which is boring already?

I will sound the key phrase of the article: “You can drive 1000km by bike and remain a city dweller, but it’s worth going 30km by canoe – and you are already a child of nature.”

Here I will turn your attention, and competent people guessed what I am leading to. To us! To the fact that kayak and canoe within reasonable limits is a unique, original form of functional training, where all of the summing and dissected exercises include these same core muscles ’plus arms and legs and the vestibular apparatus are full!

Kayaking is also a sport.
